Why doesn’t Hello, Jean provide every item every month?

Our goal is to support as many families as possible throughout the year. Some hygiene and home care items are designed to last longer than one month. By spacing out certain items, we’re able to stretch our resources and continue serving families consistently.

How do you decide how often items are given?

We base our guidelines on average household use for a family of four. Items that are used quickly or are essential for daily care are typically offered more often, while larger or longer-lasting products may be offered on a rotating schedule. Our team also takes into consideration the specific size of your family and may adjust our distribution accordingly.

Personal Hygiene Items

What hygiene items are usually available every month?

Items that are used quickly and are essential for daily care are typically offered monthly, including bar soap, toothpaste, and feminine hygiene products. Availability may vary based on donations and inventory.

What hygiene items may be offered less often?

Items such as body wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, deodorant, toothbrushes, and hand sanitizer often last longer than one month and may be provided on a rotating basis.

Home Cleaning & Care Products

Does Hello, Jean also provide home cleaning products?

Yes. When available, we offer basic home cleaning and care products to help families maintain a safe and healthy living environment.

Why aren’t all cleaning products available every month?

Many cleaning products are concentrated or large-sized and are intended to last several weeks or even months. Rotating these items allows us to continue supporting more families over time.

What cleaning items are typically offered more frequently?

Items that are used quickly or replaced often may be available monthly, such as paper towels and sponges.

What cleaning items may be offered on a rotating basis?

Items that usually last longer may be offered every few months, including:
• All-purpose cleaner
• Bathroom cleaner
• Window cleaner
• Toilet bowl cleaner
• Laundry detergent (depending on the size given previously)
• Disinfecting spray/wipes
• Dish soap
• Floor cleaning refills (such as Swiffer® WetJet pads)

Availability depends on inventory and donations.

Do I have to explain or prove why I need something?

No. We operate from a place of trust, dignity, and respect. Any questions we ask are only to help us understand how best to support your family.

What if an item isn’t available when I request?

Our programs depend on donations and inventory levels, which can change from month to month. If an item isn’t available, please know we are actively working to restock and encourage you to check back during your next visit.
