About Hello, Jean!

Hello, Jean! is a 501(c)(3) Maryland nonprofit public charity dedicated to helping individuals and families in need access the everyday essentials they need to live with health, dignity, and security. We provide free personal hygiene products, home care and cleaning supplies, and non-perishable food staples to help ease the financial burden of basic necessities. While food assistance programs such as local food pantries and SNAP help address food insecurity, many families also struggle to afford essential hygiene and household products—items that are often overlooked and are not covered by SNAP or WIC. Hello, Jean! works to fill that gap by providing a broader range of basic necessities, helping families care for themselves, their homes, and their households during times of financial hardship.

Our Mission

A person’s overall health and well-being can only be maintained when they have access to the items necessary to keep them clean and cared for. The Hello, Jean! outreach program provides free personal hygiene, home care products, and food staples to those in need each month.

Needed Items

Items needed include personal care items such as toothpaste, shampoo, soap, and razors, feminine hygiene products, laundry care items, household cleaning products, and more. These items are often overlooked at typical pantry locations and are among the most needed items for families struggling to make ends meet. We also accept donations of non-perishable food items.

Team Jean

Our team of passionate and dedicated volunteers works to secure product donations, grocery and big box store gift cards, and monetary donations. Donated and purchased items are packaged according to each enrolled family’s unique needs, and distributed each month.
